Adam Sauer, a junior majoring in electrical engineering, has been awarded a 2025 IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Scholarship Plus Initiative scholarship. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding students pursuing careers in power and energy engineering.
The PES Scholarship Plus Initiative provides financial support and real-world experience to high-achieving undergraduate students who are committed to shaping the future of energy. These scholars will play a key role in advancing green technologies, developing the smart grid, and transforming power generation and utilization.
This year, 84 students nationwide were selected as PES Scholars, with 17 recipients from the Midwestern region, including Sauer. These students have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, strong extracurricular involvement, and a clear dedication to the power and energy field. The scholarship is made possible through the generosity of individuals and corporations supporting the IEEE Power & Energy Society Scholarship Fund of the IEEE Foundation.
