Career Success

Career-Ready Skills. Future-Focused Education.

A University of Nebraska–Lincoln degree opens doors. The Career Success Platform helps students walk through them with confidence.

Through industry-aligned digital badges, students can strengthen their academic experience with practical, career-relevant skills that complement their coursework. These non-credit credentials focus on specific skill areas employers value, allowing students to translate what they are learning into applied, workforce-ready experience while staying fully focused on their degree programs. Students can earn these credentials at their own pace and apply them directly to internships, research experiences, and early career roles.

Think of it as building a career backpack: credentials, skills, and proof of what you know and can do.

What is the Career Success Platform?

The UNL Career Success Platform provides free access to career-focused learning for UNL undergraduate and graduate students.

Through the platform, UNL offers access to Coursera Career Academy, which includes certificate-based courses across four areas:

  • Software Engineering and IT
  • Data Science and Analytics
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Business Operations and Support

Courses are developed by leading employers, including Google, IBM, Intuit, Meta, PwC, and Salesforce. These credentials are designed to align with workforce needs while reinforcing the academic foundation students gain through their UNL degrees.

Request Access

UNL students can request access to the Career Success Platform by completing a short form.
